Pumping Station De Baanbreker
Pumping station De Baanbreker is responsible to level the water in a area of 6000 hectare therefore perfectly functioning is of great importance. In 2005 the Water Authority stated renovation of this pioneer station was urgently needed. The very outdated electrical installation (year 1951) no longer met the current requirements.
Furthermore, increasing the capacity of the pump was necessary. Measurements showed that the removal of high river water level was inadequate. New electric motors and pumps, increased the capacity of 440 m3 to 540 m3 per minute. The pumps are driven by direct drive electric motors with an output of 250 kW at a speed range of 150-180 rpm.
